Description :
Navin Process Systems offer integrated systems for the pasteurization of pulps, purees & juices of tropical fruits such as mango, papaya, banana, guava, etc., on an industrial scale. The process involves collection of the pulp from the pulper, heating the same from ambient temperature to 95 OC, holding at 95 OC for around 2 minutes, & conveying to the filling/canning station. In addition, the pulp can also be cooled to ambient temperature (or even lower) if the pulp is to be frozen. The system consists of blending tanks, feed pumps, heat exchangers, piping & instrumentation. The blending tanks can be designed as pressure vessels suitable for in-situ steam sterilization (for aseptic operation), or as atmospheric tanks. Valves, pressure gauges & safety valves are provided.
The feed pumps are used for transferring pulp from the pulper to the blending tanks, & from the blending tanks to the heat exchangers. The pumps used are selected between sanitary tri lobe pumps & screw pumps. The heater section consists of a number of corrugated tube heat exchanger modules, connected in series. These heat exchangers have distinct advantages of higher heat transfer efficiency & lower sticking & charring of product, over other competitive products such as shell & tube heat exchangers, plate heat exchangers, & scraped surface heat exchangers. The interconnecting piping work consists of piping sections for continuous flow of pulp from the pulper to the blending tanks, heat exchangers & onwards to the filling/canning station. Piping is also provided for the heating/cooling medium through the heat exchanger battery.

The process control instrumentation package gives an advantage of lower operating manpower requirement, ease of operations, maintenance & troubleshooting, & standardization of product quality. The system consists of instruments for pulp flow rate measurement & control, temperature measurement & control, etc.

Heating medium to be used can be selected between pressurized hot water & low pressure steam, as per customer?s preference. However, the heat transfer efficiency obtained in the system offered with low pressure steam will be much higher than hot water, without having a detrimental effect on product quality.
